Everybody Writes...

My visa from India arrived this week, with not much time to spare.  Usually, visas are issued within a week, but there was a slight glitch with mine....for my occupation, I check off  "writer".
Seems innocuous enough, doesn't it!?
On the visa application, there was a place to check off occupation and they gave you a list to choose from.  Well, I wasn't a doctor, engineer or mechanic, nor really any of the options that were presented for me to choose from.  And then there was "writer", so I thought to myself... "well, I do write...", so I checked off "writer".
A week later, I get a form letter from Travisa that I must sign stating that I will not be going to India for the purpose of photojournalism, photographing or writing anything (presumably negative) while I am there.  So I signed it, assuming personal writing and photography are ok.
Visa just arrived good for six months, multiple entries...first entry in 9 days!
